In 2009 We Had A Really Great Time!!!

The following pictures are a patchwork of all of the places and the fun we had in late summer and Fall of 09. Deb traveled solo to Oklahoma to see the grandkids, to Boston for a Tradeshow, and Deb and G.L. traveled to Lake Powell again and also to Bryce Canyon for a second time. This year was busy and had a lot of fun adventures. Hope we can have as much fun in the new year!!!

Down in the Salt Mine

This past Thursday, a group from work took a trip down to Redmond Utah to visit the mine. Activities included a dynamite shoot. Don't get confused like I did. I thought that they would be blasting salt in the mine. What it really meant was aiming at a stick of dynamite and shooting a gun. Not that I am bragging or anything but, I did hit the dynamite at 100 yards (football field length) on my very first shot. I have to say, it was a real BLAST!
It was also really neat to actually travel down (lowest point 260 feet) into the Redmond Salt mine. It was something to behold. I grabbed chunks of pure, unprocessed salt to take to the grandkids in Oklahoma. Many do not realize how important "good" salt is our diet. I truly love my job.
Kris Hummer (girl next to me in the bottom picture) has become a good friend. We spent the entire day seeing how the mine works, the Redmond Farm and stopping for ice cream on the way back to Heber. Fantastic Field Trip for an old lady like me. Good Times!

Oklahoma here I come!

Life has been fairly busy with my job at Redmond and my everyday stuff at home in Malad and at the apartment in Heber. Jimmy turned 30 this year and we celebrated in our backyard in Malad. Auds and I went to see WICKED and also the American Idol Concert in SLC compliments of my job. Gary and I visited my folks in Twin Falls where he and mom played their hearts out on the guitar and the Yuke.
It has been a good summer, but Fall looks to be even more FUN with a trip to Oklahoma to visit the family and watch Jess and Kolby's girls while she takes a quick trip to Costa Rica with friends, a trip to Bryce Canyon with Gary for the semi-annual Airport Convention and a trip to Lake Powell for the Redmond Retreat. The icing on the cake will be when Curt and family drive out the first week of October for a week long visit. Last, but certainly not least, we have a new grandson due to be born this coming January. Could life get any better!

This blog is for June because she asked for it. Nana and Papa went skiing today (President's Day). The sun played hide and seek all day long, but the snow was pretty nice. Nana only biffed it once on her very first run, but oh what a biff it was. I think we'll call it a laffey daffey. No bones broken, so I guess not harm done. The rest of the day was smooth sailing. Can't wait till the grandkids are big enough to come with us.

Auds turned 26! She is a beautiful as ever, and is now the same age I was when she was born. Time marches on with our without our blessing. We are so glad we have her in our family, she keeps things popping! Here is a pic of Auds at California Pizza Kitchen with her Nightmare Before Christmas Cake. Atleast that is what we called it. Happy B.day Auds - We luv ya!

Jess got after me to catch up on my blog. Life gets so busy, days turn into weeks and weeks into months and before you know it it's Christmas again. So, that is where I will begin my catching up. We had a great Christmas with family all around including Kolby, Jess and the girls. Curt, Tish and the kids spent their Christmas at home in Oklahoma, but a phone call linked us together in Holiday Spirit.

Tis the season to be jolly Fa la la la Jimmy, Auds, Jess and Kolby.

Nana kept the girls busy with paints, clay and anything else she could think of.

While Winnie took a long Winter's Nap, June & Papa braved the cold for an hour of sledding. Winter is frosty cold here in Utah and noses and cheeks take on a rosy glow. We hope that everyone stays cozy and well until we greet Spring with all the surprises the Bunny will bring!
